Sauer Shotgun Serial Numbers

Oldest firearms manufacturing firm in Germany. Founded in 1751 in Suhl. During this period the company produced high quality handguns and long guns. In 1938, it introduced a new double-action semi-automatic pistol, Sauer 38H. Pistol had the first decocking lever ever used on a mass produced pistol. When I am out hunting with my side by side shotgun from 1898, every mechanical and artistic detail makes me feel the passion and dedication, with which our ancestors have lived up to these values and laid the foundation for the phi losophy of Sauer & Sohn. Now as back then, Sauer hunting firearms are not a temporary phenomenon – they are guns.
