Then there are the Taiwan Schwinn bikes that vary in. 10-Speed And Sting-Ray; Later Schwinn serial numbers / years made Bicycles from Japan made in the 70’s have a production month letter in either the first or second position and a production year number in the other (first or second) position. Examples J677123 = September, 1976, 6J77123. However I can't seem to find difinitive information. I located the serial number: SC507898, but the two letters at the beginning don't match any date code listed on any of the sites the last serial numbers and how to decode them. The head badge also has a number on it: 1025 which would put it as made the 102nd day of either 1975 or 1985. This tool searches a database of Schwinn serial numbers and if it finds a match to your serial number then it will display the information available for your bike. Notes: This tool works for Schwinn bikes from 1948 to 1982. All serial number records before 1948 were lost in a factory fire. Up for auction is a very clean vintage Schwinn womans world tourist. This is a 3 speed bike with 27 x1/14 inch rims this very clean bicycle has front hand brakes and rear coaster brakes and is in original condition. All tires hold air and this bike is operating as it should shift smooth and rides very nice the serial number is 1347 C 58 this. Interpret the serial numbers of bikes produced between 1959 and 1964. Those Schwinn bikes produced before 1959 have no real system to numbering but the serials typically contain six or seven numbers or letters.
